Furniture plays a significant role in the design of both the home and industrial environments. It is carried on as a guideline for displaying one's own self-expression in a constructed environment. "Artus" is a Latin word for compact, which targets the overall set-up of space-saving. The design is for a family of 5, and each piece of furniture has two to three functions that surely take up less room while still performing different responsibilities.

Furniture Design for Limited Spaces

Patricia Beatrice Sebastian from 3IND-1

This plate is one of our coursework in ELE: Furniture Design. The designed furniture is responsive to the situation of a family of five living in a 22sqm area. By maximizing the available space, I came up with the design that would not only help the family in their daily activities but also the materials used were sustainable (e.g., Bamboo, Rattan, Jute Fabric, Laminated Wood, Salvaged Wood, Metal Scrap, and many more).
