This sticker illustrates a woman figure in the middle which portrays "Aling Marites" the one who cooks atchara. The face part and also the bowl shape in the sticker will be open so it will show what's inside which is the atchara. This design easily emphasizes the product that is needed to advertise. It will also help Aling Marites to be confident of what she sells and to convince them that her atchara is delicious.

My Design Concept is consisting of different geometrical shape to serve as the background of the label and to enhance the overall design. I used circles for the front to have a minimalist and elegant presentation, a papaya graphic and colors that complement the glass jar. For the back part, I used two triangles to form a square and put contrasting colors to provide vibrance to the packaging. I think my design concept is aligned with the packaging brief because based on the specifications given by the client, I used glass jar to symbolize premium quality and elegance of the product, the colors used on this design are also complimenting and related to the product endorsed, and most importantly all details and information needed are all present in the design.

"Ano ‘to?” is a question I always hear from people whenever an atchara is in their plate in every occasion. It may not be to everyone's taste, nor is it something that may become addictive, but for me, it feels like home. Hence , the reason I came up with this type of concept, in which a table cloth is placed beneath a papaya fruit, is because it always reminds me of my mom setting up the dining table, and it also represents a classic Filipino style known as "Salo-Salo." One of the reasons that motivated me to pursue this design idea is my love for classic and vintage vibes, which I integrated into the logo of “ATSARAP,” where the components worked in perfect balance with the overall design of the sticker package label. Furthermore, the color scheme I selected was based on my perception of the atchara, which was warm and mellow. Since this side dish is not that popular to many, I wanted to design it in such a way that future and potential customers would pay attention to the product more while also creating a nostalgic sense.

Whenever Atsara is served at the table, two words always come to my mind; FUN and EXCITEMENT. Its mix of bright colors radiates happiness and its taste perfectly matches its appearance. The food itself has a unique taste and complements your food. The overall theme of this sticker label design for Aling Marites’ Atsara has a minimalist aspect. Minimalism became a popular design trend and has been eye-catching to several people. And usually, minimalist designs are incorporated into high-end products. Since this is a local product, the organic shapes and fun bright colors add a spice of fun and excitement to the design. It gives off a friendly approach that will surely not intimidate the buyers into grabbing a jar of Atsara. From using a disposable plastic jar as the material, Aling Marites' primary packaging is now a glass jar with a silver lid that is 100% reusable.

My goal is to create a label that will catch the customers' attention when shopping in the supermarket. So I designed the sticker label in a way that it will be noticed instantly because of its unique design, making the buyers curious about how this product is different from the other ordinary packaging, and how it tastes different from the other atsara for having such design. Considering the color as it plays a role in our purchasing decisions and emotional ties to a product, I’ve thought of a sticker label where its theme was to look luxurious with the color black and healthy or very vegetable design with the color green and white. Usually, the color black means the absence of color and is full of negativity but to break its norm, I use black to define Aling Marites' product as mysterious; just as I mentioned above, customers will be curious about its taste for having such aura of the design of the sticker label. The second thing for choosing black is making the impression of a formal, elegant, and prestigious product, aligned with her target market, high middle-class customers.

ATSARAP package design took into consideration the application of the Elements of Packaging in order to create a proper and appropriate design for the product in terms of Graphics, Color, Typography, Shape and Form, Size, Material and Label. The layout covered all necessary information such as ingredients, weight, instructions and the like thus, giving the product an influence on the consumers’ minds. The packaging (jar) is durable, eco-friendly reusable glass material, and tight lid - a good spoilage prevention container.

My design objective is to be simple with a touch of color.
I don't use bright colours or too much design since I believe it will be too overwhelming and confuse consumers on where to read first. This product has been in the business field for a decade and wants to be offered to upper-middle-class clients; I suppose this design reflects the appearance of it being on the market. A thin balance between high quality and accessibility for everybody.

I aimed for my design to be minimalistic and simple, with fewer details and cosmetic designs. Adding too much would make it too overwhelming to read and would make consumers confused on where to read first. At the same time, this product has been in the business industry for a decade and wants it t be sold for high middle-class customers, I guess this design captures the look of it being on the fine line of luxurious quality and affordability for all.

Uwian na may nanalo na! The Atsara is one of the many staples when it comes to Filipino Food, Atsarap by Marites Foods Inc. Is one of the best in town for over a decade. The Packaging itself screams Filipino not only that it's pleasing to the eye but it's also sustainable as well.

I had a lot of thinking to do for the design to become unique from the atsara brand of the past. I had to look at a lot of references for inspiration, did a lot of revisions as I see fit and came to a decision for the main elements for the design. The main idea that I wanted to show in this design is the concept of FUN, VIVIDNESS, and a bit of a VINTAGE style. As shown at the front part of the label are drawings of lines and curves to show that it’s fun and not boring to look at. Leaves of the papaya and also the papaya fruit itself are also drawn there to show that the papaya is the main ingredient. I chose a drawing/line art kind of style because it’s more free than the controlled vector style that digital options provided us.

The overall appearance of the packaging is minimal. Making it clean, simple, and easy to see the necessary product information is my goal. Since it will be available at grocery stores, the brand name is emphasized in all capitals and bold fonts to instantly grab the attention of customers. The Mother on the front label signifies that the product was created with the expertise and skill of a Filipino mother. We all know how meticulous our Filipino mothers are when it comes to cooking. This assures that the product is made with the best quality ingredients. Also, all the relevant details on the back label are visible at one glance, so even older people won’t have trouble understanding them.
